World Parkinson’s Day at Barcelona Golf Club

On April 11th, to mark World Parkinson’s Day, Barcelona Golf Club had the honor of hosting a truly special event: a Pro-Am organized by the association Golf with Parkinson, in collaboration with Barcelona Golf Academy. It was a morning where golf once again proved that it is much more than a sport — it’s connection, it’s health, it’s community.
An inclusive golf day in Barcelona, where the tee wasn’t just filled with clubs and golf balls, but also with enthusiasm, effort, and a strong will to share. The event brought together people with Parkinson’s, family members, golf professionals and volunteers in a warm and positive atmosphere. Everyone played together. Everyone enjoyed it equally.
This activity was made possible thanks to the commitment of Juan Carlos Campillo, president of Golf with Parkinson, and the dedication of Carlos Vivas, coach at BGA, whose involvement and sensitivity set the tone for the entire event.
More and more studies support the benefits of golf as a therapeutic activity: it improves mobility, balance, coordination, and mood. For people with Parkinson’s, it can make a meaningful difference in their everyday lives — and this event was a clear example of that.
Watching the players focus, laugh, encourage each other and celebrate every shot is something not easily forgotten.
At Barcelona Golf Club, we want to express our sincere thanks to all participants and collaborators. Initiatives like this reflect our commitment to inclusive, human and value-driven golf.
Thank you for trusting us to be part of such a meaningful gathering.
We’ll keep working to ensure golf is a space where everyone — absolutely everyone — has a place.
